Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, also called Hyaluronan, or HA

Our specially sourced ULMW (ultra-low molecular weight) Sodium Hyaluronate is a white, hygroscopic fine powder with an average molecular weight of 6000 Daltons (Da).  There are several types of Hyaluronic acid based on molecular weight referred to as Daltons.  This type is classified as ultra-low molecular weight which is considered on the small size molecule side of the spectrum and has the best ability to penetrate the skin to help boost hydration for all skin types, which is especially beneficial for dry, dehydrated, or damaged skin.

ULMW HA bonds to collagen on one side and a water molecule on the other, lending to hydrating the skin and reducing fine lines.  It has been shown to reduce the inflammatory response and promote regenerative healing.  Low molecular weight HA penetrates the skin and does not gel like the HMW-Hyaluronic acid, so it can be incorporated up to 10% without changing a formulation's viscosity.  Hyaluronan is a major component of the extracellular matrix, and plays a key role in tissue regeneration, inflammation response, and vital phases of wound repair.
