ORA-Plus® is a unique suspending vehicle designed to simplify the extemporaneous compounding of oral suspensions. When incorporating APIs, it forms elegant, uniform, physically stable suspensions. This formulation is an aqueous-based, synergistic blend of suspending agents that have a high degree of colloidal activity. The suspending agents form a structured, gel-like matrix which suspends particles and allows for little settling. ORA-Plus® is buffered to a slightly acidic pH to help reduce degradation of medicinal agents through oxidation. It also includes an anti-foam agent to allow for vigorous shaking with minimal foam. Bitter-Bloc™ WS Powder Concentrate (SKU: F0106) can be added to block bitterness and flavor defects from many APIs and achieve optimal palatability.
