ORA-Sweet® is a citrus-berry flavored syrup vehicle used to simplify the process of flavoring and sweetening the extemporaneous compounding of oral preparations. It allows the pharmacist to formulate elegant, sweetened products with minimum time and maximum dependability. This formulation is the modern version of simple syrup with a highly palatable taste. ORA-Sweet® can be combined in a 50/50 ratio with ORA-Plus® (SKU: B0248) to produce a pleasant tasting elegant suspension. It contains sucrose (sweetening agent) and small amounts of glycerin and sorbitol to prevent “cap lock” problems common to most syrups. ORA-Sweet® is buffered to a slightly acidic pH to help diminish degradation of medicinal agents through oxidation. Bitter-Bloc™ WS Powder Concentrate (SKU: F0106) can be added to block bitterness and flavor defects from many APIs and achieve optimal palatability.
